Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday promised that he would take the responsibility of extending the Dalit Bandhu scheme to all the Dalit community families in the Madhira Assembly constituency after the polls.

He was addressing a public meeting in the constituency which has elected Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for three consecutive terms.

Rao had announced Rs 10 lakh assistance to every Dalit family in the state at the time of Huzurabad bypoll in 2021 while finance and health minister T. Harish Rao had later stated that all Dalit families would be covered by 2025.

Rao said he had voluntarily chosen Chintakani Mandal in the Madhira Assembly constituency for the pilot project of the scheme and once the elections were over he would personally monitor its implementation in Madhira and ensure that all the families were given the benefits at one go. "We did it on saturation mode in Huzurabad and gave assistance to all 25,000 families," he pointed out.

Referring to development initiatives of the BRS government including free eye check-ups for all and supplying 80 lakh spectacles, Rao wondered how true could be the campaign spread by Congress that it would

win the elections. "I have toured more than 70 constituencies. It is just a false narrative. The Congress will not win more than 20 seats," he said.

Rao ridiculed the Congress poll slogan to give a chance to the party that granted separate statehood to Telangana stating that Congress had no option but to concede following his ultimatum that it would be either Rao’s funeral procession or Telangana's victory lap.

"It is not out of love for the people of Telangana that the Congress finally created a new state but out of compulsion," he said adding that if the party was sincere it would have carved out a separate state in 2004. thereby saving the lives of scores of Telangana youth.

Speaking at a public meeting at Suryapet, Rao appealed to the people to not waste their vote by choosing the Bharatiya Janata Party which would not win a single seat in the state. He also gave a call to the voters to chase away parties that come with money bags and attempt to buy votes.

"You have to choose between the Congress that destroyed Telangana for 50 years or the BRS that has developed the state a lot within a short span of nine years," he said.
