Riyadh: A seasoned diplomat, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, K Jeeva Sagar has been posted as Ambassador to Kuwait. He is the first ever Telugu person to be posted as envoy in Kuwait.

Indian Ambassador’s post has been vacant for some time now after the retirement of Sunil Jain. The new Ambassador is expected to arrive shortly to Kuwait to assume charge. Currently he is serving as Joint Secretary in the External Affairs



Ministry headquarters in New Delhi.

57-year-old Jeeva Sagar is from 1991 IFS batch and hails from Machilipatnam in Krishna district. He had begun his diplomatic career in Iran and went on to serve in various continents.

He is an alumnus of University of Hyderabad (UoH) and graduated from Noble College of Machilipatnam. Before taking up his career as a diplomat, he had worked in Canara Bank.
