K Kavitha slams Congress for failing to fulfill key promises to BCs

BRS MLC K Kavitha called for urgent implementation of the Congress government’s unfulfilled promises to the Backward Classes (BCs). She demanded that the government expedite the BC declaration and election manifesto commitments, including establishing a separate ministry for Most Backward Classes (MBCs).

Addressing Telangana Vaddera community leaders on Wednesday, Kavitha said despite a year in power, the Congress had failed to initiate steps to build BC Unity (Aikyatha) buildings with a promised allocation of Rs 50 crore per district and to provide 42 per cent reservation for BCs in local bodies. She criticised the government for neglecting caste-based professions.

In a



separate statement, the BRS MLC expressed concern over recurring incidents of food poisoning in residential welfare schools, citing the recent hospitalisation of six students from Kasturba Girls’ School in Sarangapur of Jagtial district. She held Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who holds the Education Ministry portfolio, responsible for failing to ensure basic quality standards in welfare schools.

She urged the Chief Minister to personally visit welfare schools, review their conditions, and implement measures to prevent such incidents.

“Parents are worried about the safety and well-being of their children. Providing substandard food exposes the government’s inefficiency,” she said.
