BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao appealed to the people to compare the performance of the BRS government with that of the Congress, which ruled for about 65 years.

Speaking at a session organised by the Business Network International (BNI) in Hyderabad on Friday, Rama Rao said the state has seen severe power and water crises during the Congress government but was now witnessing an unprecedented transformation across multiple domains.

"Our focus would be on developing social infrastructure, sporting infrastructure, education and skilling, healthcare, and nurturing entrepreneurship," said Rama Rao.

The development was appreciated by the business houses and celebrities but the opposition parties chose not to see it, he said

Telangana has a lot of untapped tourism potential due to the new reservoirs that have come in the state. The Covid-19 pandemic had affected the services sector badly which is gradually getting back on track, he said, adding that he would seek a tourism portfolio if the BRS was voted to power.  He appealed to young entrepreneurs to

explore new avenues like religious tourism, medical tourism, spiritual tourism, health, sports, and wilderness tourism.

The best thing about this sector was that the government's investment would be minimal and many projects could be executed under public-private partnership mode, he said.

Citing the 23-km cycling track on the Outer Ring Road, Rama Rao said that there were more plans. Gandipet and Himayatsagar could be developed without polluting them. More weekend avenues have to be developed around Hyderabad, he said.

Explaining the measures taken to support the small and medium enterprises, he said Telangana had initiated an industrial health clinic to bail out stressed small businesses.  It would work with the company management during the initial stage and conduct a techno-economic study, besides working with banks on restructuring loans, he said.

Rama Rao said the state was seeing a substantial rise in agriculture production and special food processing zones were being set up in 16 locations.
