Hyderabad: South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation members installed a sanitary napkin dispenser at women’s waiting hall in Kacheguda Railway Station on Friday.

The facility was inaugurated by a woman employee of the SCR in the presence of Arun Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad, Vaishali Jain, president, South Central Railway Women’s Welfare



Organisation (SCRWWO) and others.

The Kacheguda station caters to about 17,000 women passengers on a daily basis, with the machine having the capacity to dispense 75 napkins in a single refill. The cost of two napkins is Rs 5, according to an SCR release. The incinerator machine can dispose of 200 used napkins per day and is the first of its kind facility in railway stations in the city.
