Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender said erstwhile Karimnagar district is going to become ‘Jala Haram’ (water chain) if the ongoing irrigation projects were completed.

Minister inaugurated CC road laid by State warehousing corporation near Bommakal bypass road in Karimnagar town on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said there would not any scarcity of water for both drinking and irrigation purposes once Medigadda, Annaram, Sundilla,



Yellampalli and Mid Manair projects were completed.

Earlier, the government used to face severe difficulties to store crops due to lack of sufficient godowns in the State. However, Telangana government has built 18 lakh metric tons capacity godowns, he informed.

On the other hand, Telangana has become a role model by introducing farmer friendly schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, farmer insurance and others, he said.
