Telangana Jagruthi founder president and Nizamabad MLC K Kavitha extended her heartfelt greetings to people of Telangana State on the occasion of Bathukamma festival celebrations that commenced across the State on Friday. She stressed on the cultural significance and legacy of Bathukamma celebrations, which have been a binding force for the people of Telangana State.
The Nizamabad MLC stated that the festival has been very important for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who after the State formation in 2014, declared it as a State festival. “The Chief Minister played the role of an elder brother and father figure for women of Telangana State, gifting Bathukamma
sarees to women on the occasion,” she said.
Kavitha who is presently under home quarantine after coming in contact with MLA Sanjay Kumar, took to social media platforms and reminded people that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to prevail in the State where personal safety and safety of the loved ones lies in the respective hands. She urged women to take all the precautions and maintain physical distancing as well as avoid large gatherings while celebrating the festival. She also announced that all the annual grand scale celebrations of Bathukamma by Telangana Jagruthi were cancelled in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
