Kavitha warns of intensifying fight against Congress government over tribal welfare

BRS MLC K Kavitha warned of intensifying the fight against the Congress government’s negligence towards tribal welfare during its one-year rule, leaving the tribal communities grappling with multiple issues. She demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy act immediately to address their concerns rather than relying on empty promises and announcements.

After visiting Adivasi villages in Boath, Asifabad, and Khanapur constituencies along with BRS MLAs Kova Lakshmi and Anil Jadhav recently, Kavitha pointed out several issues plaguing the tribal areas. She reminded that during the BRS regime, Adivasi communities made significant progress.

“Now, under Congress rule, they are deprived of basic necessities like drinking water and access to modern agricultural practices,” she said. She criticised the government’s failure to address education and healthcare for Adivasis. She



also cautioned Revanth Reddy against reducing governance to mere rhetoric.

The BRS MLC pointed out that seasonal diseases were rampant, and many had died due to lack of timely treatment. “The Congress government’s negligence is appalling,” she said. She also raised concerns about deteriorating educational infrastructure, citing reduced tribal welfare residential schools and incidents of students dying from consuming contaminated food.

Kavitha said due to BRS’s consistent fight for tribal rights, the Chief Minister held a meeting with tribal communities on Friday. “This meeting is a victory for the BRS party,” she asserted. She demanded that the government prioritise socio-economic development of tribals and strengthen the Integrated Tribal Development Authority (ITDA). She added that if the government failed to fufil its promises, the BRS would intensify its fight.
