The crucial cabinet meeting to be held on  Thursday will decide whether Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao dissolves the state Assembly and calls for early elections.

According to sources close to the CM, he has two options: either to straightaway make the decision in the Cabinet meeting on September 7, or to hold the Assembly session and then announce the dissolution of the assembly in the house itself.

Sources close to the CM said that if early elections to the Assembly are to be held in December, then the Assembly should be dissolved before September 22.

Cabinet ministers are themselves said to be tense about what decision will be taken by the Chief Minister in the Cabinet meeting.

Sources say KCR's acolytes have opined that six is his lucky number and announcing the decision on this date my be beneficial to him. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief is said to be a strong believer in numerology, vaastu and astrology. He often deploys them to make his political decisions.

After the early morning cabinet meeting, KCR is likely to meet Governor ESL Narasimhan and request him to dissolve

the state assembly.

KCR is hoping that once the assembly is dissolved, the Election Commission will agree to advance the polls and conduct them along with the elections in Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. These states are set to go to polls by the end of 2018.

Once the assembly has been dissolved, KCR will kick-start his poll campaign, which will include 100 meetings in 50 days. The campaign will start from September 7.

Meanwhile, the state planning and development department has asked all TRS legislators to submit their proposals so that it can release funds for developmental works in their constituencies. These funds will be released under the Assembly Constituency Development Programme.

The Chief Minister's Office has asked department heads and principal secretaries to release all government orders pertaining to the decisions made on Wednesday and Thursday without any delay.

This is to ensure that sops and other benefits that are being extended are not stalled due to the Code of Conduct that will come into place once the poll dates are announced.
