Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday expressed his deep condolences over the death of Jnanpith Awardee Dr C Narayana Reddy.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that his soul rest in peace. “The contributions made and services rendered in the field of literature by Dr Narayana Reddy can never be forgotten,” the Chief Minister said, and recalled the services rendered by Dr Narayana Reddy as a teacher, literary figure, poet, film lyricist as well as Member of the
Rajya Sabha.
The Chief Minister said Dr Narayana Reddy, besides winning the prestigious Jnanpith Awardee, won several other prestigious awards and recognitions. Epic poems, songs, free verse, features, fiction, ghazals, burra kathas and other genres in literature that the son of the Telangana soil Dr Reddy penned will always be remembered, he said.
The Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary SP Singh to make arrangements to conduct the funeral of Late Narayana Reddy with police honours.
