Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today dedicated to the nation the 600MW KTPP (Kakatiya Thermal Power Plant) second unit at Dubbapally under Ghanpur mandal near Bhupalapally in Warangal district. He also unveiled a statue of Dr Ambedkar and a Pylon at the KTPC complex on the occasion.

Addressing a public meeting later, KCR announced extension of Kalyan Lakshmi scheme to BCs and those who have ration cards in the State. The Chief Minister lashed out at the Opposition for their witch-hunting against the government. Despite the people of Warangal taught them a fitting lesson in the recent election, the fastidious Opposition parties were not mending their ways, he lamented. They cannot make baseless allegations against the government, which was giving top priority to welfare and developmental programs from the day one, he claimed.

“Yet, unmindful of such useless criticism against us, we are working day and night for the rapid growth of the State on all fronts”, KCR said. Stating that the people are their bosses, KCR said the Warangal will be the next city to be developed on par with Hyderabad. Calling upon people to support the

State government, he said farmers in Telangana will have two crops by getting adequate waters and nine-hour uninterrupted power supply.

The Chief Minister said his government gave equal importance to festivals of all religions and will achieve golden Telangana. “As the irrigation projects are getting fructified, we will keep the promise of supplying 24-hour power supply to all by 2018”, KCR declared amidst wild applause by the gathering. He also vowed to fill Laknavaram, Ramappa and other lakes in the district for distribution of irrigation waters for two crops.

Taking a dig at previous governments for belittling the employees, he said services of all contract employees, including junior linemen in the Electricity department, will be regularized besides increasing salaries of the outsourcing staff as decided in the Cabinet meeting.

Speaker S Madhusudanachary described KCR as  modern Bhageeratha for launching power and irrigation projects successfully. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy, MPs P Dayakar, Sitharam Naik and local party leaders were present.
