State BJP president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday said the BRS had let down the people of Maheswaram, who played a good role in the statehood movement.
Addressing a public meeting in Maheshwaram, he said, "The state which was secured for the sake of jobs and for the weaker sections has fallen victim to the Kalvakuntla family. The Dalits were cheated in the name of having a Dalit CM and tribals were not given the promised 10 per cent reservations. The poor have been denied double-bed rooms and youth denied jobs but everyone in the KCR family has got jobs."
"Was Telangana secured for the sake of the KCR family or for our sake? If we vote for KCR he will work for his family while Narendra Modi will work for your children. The tribal hamlets have been recognised as gram panchayats but not a penny was given.
It is the Modi government which is funding these panchayats in building
their roads and buildings. The Centre has spent Rs 1,20,000 crores for laying roads in the panchayats," he said.
The BRS government, the BJP state president said, indulged in corruption and did not care about the poor. "The CM did not come to the government office even once in the last 10 years despite building a new secretariat. The BRS should be voted out and taught a lesson as they are taking over lands in the name of Dharani and valuable lands are being sold in Hyderabad. What is Sabita Reddy doing regarding the pollution causing pharma companies? We should save Maheshwaram from the BRS," he said.
He said the BRS is using monetary inducements and is also threatening them to get votes.
Participating in the party campaign in support of BJP candidate Sri Ramulu Yadav from Maheshwaram, he said only the BJP has the capacity to take on the AIMIM.
