Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was proposing a new Constitution only to divert the attention of people from the failures of the State government.
At a meeting with the members of BJP Legal Cell at the State party office here, he sought to know why the Chief Minister was proposing a new Constitution and questioned what the problem was with
the existing one. “In case of any problem, there is a possibility of making amendments to the Constitution,” he said.
The Constitution was amended as many as 105 times so far but there was no need for a new Constitution, he said and added that it is deplorable that intellectuals, advocates and educationists failed to respond to the Chief Minister’s proposal.
