Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday announced a pay revision of 35 per cent for 2018-19. The employees were on cloud nine as they gave a thunderous applause when the chief minister made the announcement at Pragathi Bhavan.
“You have got what you wanted but don’t forget me in the bargain,” Chandrasekhar Rao said, on the eve of the public meeting. His remark comes in the backdrop of the TRS government’s moves to go in for early polls. KCR also said a new health scheme will be unveiled for employees, with no limitations on medical treatment whenever required.
He drove home the point to officials to facilitate provisions in the health scheme to ensure that employees get treatment even if they have to get admitted repeatedly.
“More ailments come because of worry. If there is assurance that medical needs are taken care of, there will be no worries and no diseases,” the CM said, narrating a real
story of 150 deaths due to cholera at a certain place. The king, the CM said, got a ‘bhootha vaidyudu’ (exorcist) to drive out the calamity. “The calamity while fleeing admitted it killed only five persons but the rest had died due to the scare,” KCR said, leaving the gathering in splits.
On other demands of employees like PF and GPF, he directed officials to meet with employees and sort it out with a positive mindset. A bill collectors present said they faced problems which need to be addressed. An official pointed out bill collectors are outsourced and not under the purview of electricity department.
“Yes, I know more about the problem of outsourcing than you all. Chandrababu Naidu (as chief minister of undivided AP) introduced a bad system. I have tried to rectify it. Your problem will also be looked into for employment. It should be discussed with officials,” he said.
