Warangal: Even though Telangana High Court has issued orders that the state government implement Fasal Bima Yojana (FBY) for the benefit of farmers, KCR government has not done so, union minister and state BJP chief G. Kishan pointed out here on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons after inspecting the flood-affected areas within the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) limits in Hanamkonda, the state BJP chief said farmers of the state are suffering huge losses due to the lack of FBY.
He accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of betraying farmers without sanctioning the compensation of 10,000 that he had promised to farmers after the floods last time.
Given the circumstances, Kishan Reddy maintained that the state government immediately implement Fasal Bima Yojana in Telangana.
He underlined that government authorities have been negligent in taking up de-siltation works in colonies within GWMC limits and removing encroachments from nalas, canals, lakes and ponds. As a result, several
colonies in tri-cities of Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet have been inundated in the flood water, causing severe problems for the people, he pointed out.
LHPS demands BJP suspend MP Soyam Bapu Rao
Earlier, representatives of Lambada Hakkula Porata Samithi (LHPS), under the leadership of TPCC member Dr. Lakshmi Narayana Naik, submitted a representation to Kishan Reddy in Jangaon demanding that Adilabad BJP MP Soyam Bapu Rao be suspended immediately from the party.
Naik charged that the MP has made derogatory comments against the entire Lambada community of 40 lakh people, demanding that they be removed from the ST list. He alleged that Bapu Rao has even gone on to threaten that the state government may have to face another Manipur in Telangana if Lambadas are not removed from the ST list.
The LHPS leader demanded that the Adilabad MP be suspended immediately from BJP to instil confidence within Lambadas that injustice will not be done to them.
