Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday launched the 11-km Jubilee Bus Station (JBS)-Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) section of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, signaling the completion of phase one of the Metro Rail Project.
At a simple function here at JBS metro station, the Chief Minister waved the green flag signalling the inauguration of the corridor and then boarded the inaugural trip.
The JBS-MGBS corridor marks the completion of the 69 km Phase I of the Metro Rail Project. Municipal
Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, HMRL Managing Director N V S Reedy, among others, were present at the inaugural.
The Metro train on its way to MGBS from JBS will stop at Secunderabad West, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC Cross Roads, Chikkadapally, Narayanguda, and Sultan Bazar.
The service on the corridor will be thrown open to public from 6:30 am on Saturday.
