Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday invited Union Minister for Forest and Environment Harshvardhan to take part in the third phase Haritha Haram, a flag ship programme of the State government schedule to take off in the first week of July.
Chief Minister accompanied by party MPs- Keshava Rao, AP Jithendhar Reddy and G Vinod called on the Union Minister to thank him for environmental clearance accorded to Kaleshwaram phase-I and other irrigation projects in the State. Chief Minister apprised him of the importance of Kaleshwaram project to fulfill the avowed goal of TRS government for extending irrigation facility to over 1 crore acres in the State.

works on June, 15. The Forest Department advisory committee has given its consent to the construction of barrages, tunnels and canals as well as reservoirs including Mallanasagar.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the Central government’s nod and complimented the Union Minister for the positive response to the request made by the State government in this connection.
Rao also briefed the Minister on the massive plantation drive being implemented for the last three years even covering forest areas with a view to restoring the lost green cover.
Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, who accompanied the Chief Minister,also thanked Harshavardhan for responding to State government’s representations on several issues.
