KCR Leaves For Maharashtra In A Convoy Of 600-Vehicles

BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday left on a two-day trip to Maharashtra along with over 2,000 party leaders in a convoy of over 600 vehicles.

While the CM travelled in a bus, the convoy stretched for 6 km behind him. BRS activists put up pink party posters and flags and showered petals on the convoy as it passed on the highway.

The CM will attend party programmes in Solapur and hold talks with leaders of various parties who are keen to join the BRS on Tuesday. He will perform pujas in Pandharpur and Tulja Bhavani temples before returning to Hyderabad. This is Rao's fifth visit to Maharashtra since February.

Party sources said the BRS membership enrolment in Maharashtra had crossed the 13 lakh mark since the drive was launched on May 19. The party leadership has set a 30-lakh target by



July-end.

At Dharashiv, local women leaders welcomed the CM by offering with a traditional aarti. The CM had lunch with party leaders and left for Solapur despite the heavy rain. He received a grand welcome in Solapur, with people thronging in large numbers to have a glimpse of Rao, shake his hand and take a selfie.

Amid drum beats, the area resonated with slogans hailing Rao as ‘Desh Ki Neta’ and repeating his chant of 'Ab ki baar kisan sarkar'. Rao briefly rested at a hotel and went to the house of BRS leader Dharmana Mundaya Sadul, a former Congress MP.

Sadul, born in a poor Padmashali community family, stays in the area where a large number of community members reside. Their families had migrated from Kannapur village of  Karimnagar district.
