Banswada (Nizamabad): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday announced that the TRS government would resolve issues pertaining to forest lands and issue pattas for such lands which are already under occupation in the State.
Addressing a massive public meeting in Banswada, the Chief Minister also promised to address the grievances with regard to Part-B lands under land records purification programme to ensure that all farmers become eligible for Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima.
He assured people to lay the foundation stone for two lift irrigation schemes at Jakora and Chandur within a month after returning to power. He also promised to complete the two projects within a year to ensure water supply from Kaleshwaram project to Nizam Sagar throughout the year. He guaranteed to make Chandur and Mosra as mandal headquarters, besides sanctioning a degree college at Banswada.
Taking a dig at opposition parties for questioning the delay in construction of double-bedroom houses, Rao wanted to know why people were still in need of houses despite the tall claims of the Congress and the TDP to have constructed lakhs of houses in the State over the last six decades. “As per available records, lakhs of houses have been constructed since TDP founder NT Rama Rao’s regime. But not many can be seen at the ground level. In Manthani constituency alone, records were created claiming the construction of 140 houses per 100 families,” he said.
He pointed out that housing schemes during the Congress regime had left the beneficiaries with a debt of Rs 4,316 crore, which was waived off by the TRS government. He said the double-bedroom
houses are getting delayed as genuine efforts were being made to ensure that each house lasts for at least two generations. Unlike Congress and TDP leaders, the TRS leadership was not creating fake bills to eat the funds allocated for the poor.
The Chief Minister ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of spreading false allegations against the TRS government and felt that Modi was speaking cheaply. When he sought a public response on whether they were not receiving adequate electricity, the audience responded with a thunderous applause.
Telangana was adjudged by the Electricity Authority of India as the State with the highest per capita power utilisation, he said, alleging that the Andhra rulers deprived Telangana of electricity and water for several years in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasised the need for the completion of irrigation projects in the State. He reiterated that Telangana was the only State providing free and uninterrupted power to the farm sector. There was no use of owning several acres of land without adequate water. “I am a farmer myself. Despite being the Chief Minister of the State, I am unable to cultivate about 60 acres of my farmland as I do not have adequate water. But once Kaleshwaram project is completed, we will have plenty of water throughout the year where we can cultivate two crops a year and realise our dream of Bangaru Telangana,” he said.
Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Zaheerabad MP BB Patil, MLC Gangadhar Goud, TS Mining Development Corporation Chairman Seri Subhash Reddy, and others were present.
