Telangana PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy came down heavily on the state government saying it had resorted to mismanagement of state finances and pushed the state into a debt trap. “If TS’ share of debt stood at `69,000 crore for the 60-year period during which it was part of united state, in past two years, it has slipped into a debt of `70,000 crore because of disastrous policies of TRS,” he said.
Stating that the state government’s plan to construct a new building for Secretariat would only increase the fiscal woes of the state, he said ruling TRS was conducting false surveys to divert people’s attention.Addressing mediapersons at
Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, the TPCC chief, said, “How could a CM, who indulged in all illegal and corrupt ways to strengthen his party, become No 1 CM?”
“At a time when the government is facing the ire of the people, especially farmers and the students for not waiving farm loans and not clearing fee reimbursement dues, the government is conducting bogus surveys only to project it as a popular government, he alleged.
Earlier, Reddy along with party leaders Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Bhatti Vikramarka, P Lakshmaiah, V Hanumantha Rao and others paid tributes to former prime minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary.
