TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was seeking a third term for the BRS government to loot an additional Rs 1 lakh crore wealth of Telangana people.
Addressing a public meeting in Kollapur on Tuesday, they appealed to the people to give one chance to the Congress which had accorded statehood to Telangana and fulfilled the six-decade-long statehood dream of the people.
Revanth Reddy said that migration and suicide of people in Mahbubnagar had not stopped under the BRS regime. Telangana state was formed as per the aspirations of people but nothing good has been done for people.
The state Congress president alleged that Chandrashekhar Rao’s family had looted Rs 1 lakh crore in the last two terms of the BRS government and if Rao became CM for a third term, his family would loot another Rs 1 lakh crore.
He criticised the government for not completing the Palamuru, Kalwakurthy, Bhima and Nettempadu projects even after ten years. He asked the people of Palamuru district to stand
by the Congress and appealed to make Congress candidates to win all the seats in the district.
"Sonia Gandhi gave us Telangana state in 2014. The people should stand by her. It is our responsibility to make the Congress win. The high command has laid the responsibility of giving the B Form to candidates in 119 constituencies on the son of Palamuru," Revanth Reddy said, referring to himself. "Therefore you should support the Congress."
Accusing the BRS government of failure, Bhatti said, "Let us drown the BRS government in the Krishna river which failed to provide irrigation to even an additional acre in the Krishna basin. If today, farmers in Krishna basin are getting irrigation water to their agriculture fields, it was because of the projects constructed by previous Congress governments like Srisailam, Kalwakurthy etc."
Bhatti called upon the people of Kollapur to teach a fitting lesson to MLA B. Harshavardhan Reddy for getting elected on a Congress ticket in 2018 and cheating the voters by defecting to the BRS in 2019.
