Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would inaugurate the 119 BC Gurukul Schools on June 12. This was announced on Tuesday by Minister for BC Welfare Jogu Ramanna. He said that the schools would be established under Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Gurukul Schools for BCs as announced earlier.At a review meeting held here, the minister said that in districts, MLAs would inaugurate the schools in their respective Assembly constituencies on the same day.
He said that the government has already acquired 10 acres of land in each
of the 119 Assembly constituencies. However, as the construction would take time, it is decided to start the schools in rented buildings with necessary infrastructure. The minister said that students will be admitted into V and VI standards during the current academic year and it would benefit 41,863 students.Principal Secretary for BC welfare Ashok Kumar, BC Welfare Commissioner Aruna, BC Gurukul Society Secretary Mallaiah Bhattu and Joint Director Alok Kumar and other officials participated in the review meeting.
