Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will visit Bengaluru on Friday when he is scheduled to meet with former prime minister HD Deve Gowda. The Chief Minister and the TRS president is expected to discuss issues related to launching of a new political front with Gowda, who is also the president of Janata Dal (Secular). Chandrashekhar Rao is expected to leave the city on Friday morning at 9.45 and will return to Hyderabad in the evening.
This will be Rao’s second visit to a State capital to meet with like-minded political leaders to promote his idea of a political front as an alternative to the BJP and the Congress at the national level. He had earlier visited Kolkata on March 19 to meet with
Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banjerjee. Incidentally, on Thursday, the Chief Minister met with noted economist and Director of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy Marapally Govinda Rao who called on Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan.
The two discussed at length the country’s fiscal policy, taxation, Budget preparation methods, policies implemented under the Centre-State administration and other issues. It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had on March 3, first announced his intention of launching a new political front to bring about a qualitative change in Indian politics.
