KCR to tour irrigation projects from Jan 1

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will visit Kaleshwaram project and Sriramasagar Project Rejuvenation Scheme as part of his two-day stock-taking mission from January 1.

He will visit other works in progress right from Mid Manair to Konda Pochamma Sagar, which are also part of the multi-package Kaleshwaram project, along with Palamuru-Rangareddy, Dindi and Sitarama Project in the second leg of his visit for which the dates will be finalised later.

The Chief Minister will fly to Kaleshwaram from the Begumpet Airport on January 1 after attending the swearing-in of the Chief Justice and other judges of new Telangana High Court. He will examine the construction of pumphouses and barrages of Medigadda, Sundilla and Annaram. Later in the day, Rao will reach Karimnagar for his overnight stay.

On January 2 morning, the Chief Minister will visit the Sriram



Sagar project and examine the progress of its rejuvenation works. Rao will also visit the pumphouse sites of Rajeshwarraopet and Rampur, and return to Hyderabad on the same day.

Ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit to the irrigation projects, a team of retired engineers who had served the State in different capacities will visit the barrages and pumphouses at Medigadda, Sundilla and Annaram on December 31. The team will be led by retired chief engineer Shyamprasad Reddy.

The team will take stock of the works on Dindi and Palamuru-Ranga Reddy projects on January 1. It will also visit the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district before returning to Hyderabad on January 2. The Chief Minister will have a thorough review of all the irrigation projects with the retired engineers either on January 3 or 4.
