BJP state president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy and Rajya Sabha member K. Laxman met Jana Sena founder- president Pawan Kalyan at his office here on Wednesday, says a release from the Jana Sena.
It may be recalled that the party is a constituent of the NDA at the national level. The release said in keeping with the sentiments of the Jana Sena cadre and leaders, the party is intending to contest in 30 Assembly seats. The party had released its list of candidates in 32 assembly constituencies.
It further said that
Pawan Kalyan had conveyed that the party had strived for the victory of Telugu Desam and BJP candidates and had desisted from contesting the GHMC polls at the request of the BJP top brass. This, he said, is the opinion of the Jana Sena leaders. Clarity is expected within the next couple of days.
Kishan Reddy, however, refused to answer questions on the issue. The BJP leaders fear that it will have to face questions that it does not have the capacity to go alone if it ties up with the Jana Sena.
