The Union ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with national skill development corporation (NSDC), launched a two-day job mela 'Kaushal Mahotsav' at the national skill training institute in Vidyanagar here on Saturday.
It was formally inaugurated by Union minister for tourism G. Kishan Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the job fair was a unique example of public-private partnership’s employability initiatives. He said that the Centre has undertaken several measures to ensure skilling of job seekers in a number of
disciplines in order to boost job prospects of youth.
The recruitment drive has attracted the participation of over 100 companies offering 450 positions in sectors like automotive, logistics, production, electronics, apparel and tourism. Big-time employers, including Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (auto division), Parle Agro, ICICI Bank (services), Johnson Lifts and Sodexo, are participating in the mela.
The successful candidates will be receiving offer letters from the Union minister at the fair’s completion on Sunday.
