BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy took exception to AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra calling the BJP the B team of the BRS. He said 20 Congress legislators had joined the BRS after the 2014 and 2018 elections; the two parties had shared power in the past in the state and at the Centre, Kishan Reddy said.
"A vote for the Congress is a vote for the BRS is well known to the people of Telangana. It is something that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka have to understand," he said in Delhi. "Whose vote is benefitting whom, Rahul should answer," Kishan Reddy said.
"Does Rahul not know that BRS was part of the Manmohan Singh-led Central government in Delhi? Who made KCR a minister in the Central cabinet?
Has Rahul forgotten it? "
He asked who was protecting TS Congress president Revanth Reddy in the cash for note case? "Is it not a fact that KCR is protecting him? There is understanding on many issues between the Congress and the BRS," he said. Accusing Rahul Gandhi of being ignorant about politics and relying on falsehood, he said "cheating came naturally to the Congress."
Asked why the release of candidate list is taking time, he said, "Elections to four other states are being held ahead of our polls hence they have been taken for consideration before ours." Whether MPs will contest the polls or not will be decided by the parliamentary board, he said.
