Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has said that a Rs 25,000-crore plan was getting ready to take up road-laying works, underground drainage and other facilities for the city.
He vowed to cleanse up thoroughly the GHMC to cater to the needs of the people and provide basic amenities.In an informal chat with mediapersons here on Wednesday, the Minister maintained that he would give top priority to white-topping of the roads in the city and to address
the underground drainage problems.
He said that the JP Group had come forward for restoration of the roads with quality and standards and works will begin at Nagarjuna Circle and KCP Junction soon. It was also decided to remove the division system of major roads under the GHMC’s purview.
Besides decentralisation of powers at circle level, it was also decided to offer the best services by increasing the number of circles to 30 from 24, the Minister stated.
