The Telangana High Court has on Tuesday dismissed the criminal petition filed by BRS working president KT Rama Rao seeking to quash the criminal proceedings against him. The case registered by the State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) involves allegations of misappropriation of funds and abuse of power during his tenure as the Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA &UD) department.

The complaint, lodged by the current Principal Secretary (MA &UD), accused Rama Rao of directing the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to make substantial payments to a foreign company without proper authorization. The payments were related to hosting the Formula E Championship in Hyderabad, with allegations of financial misconduct and violation of Secretariat Business Rules, the Telangana State Finance Code and Article 299 of the

Constitution of India.

Following the High Court’s verdict given by Justice K. Lakshman,, Rama Rao approached the Supreme Court, challenging the High Court’s decision. His advocate Mohit Rao filed the petition in the Supreme Court registry, seeking relief against what they called a false case filed by the ACB. The BRS leader has reportedly discussed the legal implications with his team before moving forward.

Rama Rao also reaffirmed his faith in judiciary and exuded confidence to make a stronger comeback than the setback suffered. He vowed to continue his fight for truth, so that the world would also witness it soon. “Mark my words, our comeback will be stronger than this setback,” he declared. “Your lies won’t shatter me. Your words won’t diminish me. Your actions won’t obscure my vision. This cacophony won’t silence me,” he asserted.
