KTR carried out surprise inspection of roads in Hyderabad

Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao carried out a surprise inspection of roads and other civic amenities on Tuesday midnight and gave a shocker to the authorities.

The Minister’s sudden visit has made GHMC officials to run at the site and they reportedly faced the ire of the Minister due to the pending works of roads, drainage, etc.

KTR inspected amenities like roads, bus shelters, drainage system and ongoing works. After examining the roads and civic amenities at various places, KTR



expressed dissatisfaction due to the lapses in maintaining them. He instructed the officials to take up repairs and complete pending works immediately. He also expressed his displeasure over the poor coordination between State and central government agencies.

The Minister directed the officials to double the work force so that the pending works on Kukatpally-Usha Mullapudi lane were completed at the earliest. He asked officials to ensure proper maintenance of basic amenities like roads, bus shelters, footpaths, and sewerage facilities.
