Responding to Narendra Modi’s comment that there was inadequate power supply in Telangana, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday said the Prime Minister was free to check the power lines in the State.
Prior to Telangana’s formation, residential apartments had to rely on inverters, while industries were forced to depend on generators. So much so that industries had to declare power holidays due to power shortage. But, all these issues were addressed by the TRS government, he said.
Telangana was the only State in the country that was offering 24 hours free power supply to the farm sector, he said. “In the past, if there was power supply it was news. After TRS came into power, if there are any power cuts, it becomes news,” Rao
said.
Impressed with the corruption-free governance along with the political and economical stability here, many international companies such as Amazon, Facebook, Google and Ikea made Hyderabad their second home, the Minister said.
During a whirlwind campaign covering Medchal, Kukatpally and Qutbullapur constituencies, the Minister came down heavily on the Prajakutami. “Congress and TDP were arch rivals since decades and with the sole intention of coming into power, they joined hands,” he said.
Assuring justice to the 24 BC castes hailing from AP, which were not included in the BCs here, he said a comprehensive report was submitted by the BC Commission over the issue.
