Municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao on Monday directed the authorities to prepare plans for effective use of `waste to energy' in all municipal corporations in the state. He sought a status report on various waste to energy projects proposed in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. The minister said he would hold an extended review meeting on developmental works in municipal corporations with commissioners, mayors, MLAs and MPs of the corporation on July 10.
The minister held a review meeting on municipal corporations in the state on Tuesday with officials and also MLAs representing Warangal, Khammam,
Ramagundam and Nizamabad being present. He said the state government is giving special emphasis on development of corporations and funds are being allocated to them. He said the developmental works need to be proposed based on growth of population in these corporations.
“Roads, flyovers, bridges and LED lighting and other works need to be taken up even in corporations,“ the minister said. He also spoke to collectors and chief minister's office on pending projects.
