The State government on Tuesday decided to crack the whip against companies which failed to set up industrial units on government lands given to them for the specific purpose within the time schedule. Show cause notices will be issued seeking explanation for their failure to commence operations.
Minister of IT and Industries KT Rama Rao directed the officials concerned to identify companies that failed to take up works to set up industries within the specified period of being alloted government lands. Show cause notices will be issued to such companies and in case there is no satisfactory response from them, necessary action will be initiated against them.
Speaking at a review meeting on industrial development here, the Minister said the State government was
working with the objective of bringing in major industries to the State and create employment opportunities for local youth. He also wanted the companies to honour their commitment and commence operations as promised to the State government. Further, it was also decided to issued show cause notices to companies that sought Change of Land Use for other purposes, but failed to take up works.
Rama Rao instructed the officials to prepare a Blue Book comprising comprehensive information pertaining to all the industries in the State including promoters, sectors and categories (such as MSME, medium and major etc). This basic information of all the companies will be made available to the State government to initiate several novel programmes.
