The Hyderabad district election authority said it had served notice on BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao, following a complaint that he had met a farmers’ group at Pragathi Bhavan which is Chief Minister’s official camp office-cum-residence.
The complainant, TPCC senior vice-president G. Niranjan, called it a violation of the model code of conduct and sought action by election authorities.
Confirming that the notice had been served on Rama Rao,
Hyderabad district electoral officer (DEO) Ronald Rose said at a press conference that no notice had been served on BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao yet.
A decision will be taken by the returning officer after conducting an inquiry, Rose said.
He said that the officials will take an explanation from Rama Rao as per ECI guidelines. So far, the DEA has received around 120 complaints.
