IT Minister, K T Rama Rao, who gave away the special awards, congratulated the winners and appreciated their efforts during the time of an unprecedented pandemic. “I congratulate Telangana Social Impact Group (TSIG) for recognising entities and individuals who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic. This crisis has also revealed the most empathetic amongst us and my wishes to all who have been recognised, he said.
The awards ceremony ‘TSIG Covid-19 Warriors Event’ recognised people who have extended COVID-19 Relief to those affected in 2020 and 2021. Along with the IT Minister, noted actor and philanthropist, Sonu Sood, Principal Secretary, IT, Electronics and Communications, Jayesh Ranjan, honoured 12 corporates, 26 voluntary organisations, 29 exceptional individuals and 6 enablers.
Apart from that, nearly 850 entities and individuals from across the state will also be acknowledged through e-certificates. “While the country battled an invisible and deadly enemy, these soldiers of
humanity were at the forefront, leading the good fight, putting others before themselves. Congratulations to the Government of Telangana for the initiative and team of TSIG for organising this wonderful event,” Sonu Sood said.
Speaking on the occasion, IT Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan said that the event was held to recognise many of the unsung heroes who had risen to the occasion during the Covid crisis. “We hope that people will continue to extend support to various sections of society, with unified effort,” he said.
Established in 2018, the T-SIG is State’s official Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform and works extensively with a host of corporates, NGOs, government departments and with officials in the district administration across the State. The T-SIG has the largest impact network and offers pro-bono services to various stakeholders apart from offering specific services to corporates such as impact assessment reports and project evaluation reports.
