Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated a Basthi Dawakhana in Ramreddy Nagar Basti, Habsiguda here on Friday.

The dawakhana will serve around 12,000 people (3000 households) in six slums of Habsiguda, officials said.

Basthi Dawakhanas provide free services such as OPD Consultation, Basic lab diagnosis, Free medicines, Antenatal and postnatal care, services and screening for non-communicable diseases such as BP and diabetes.

A total of 25 basthi dawakhanas are being inaugurated in



different areas of the city yesterday.

Animal Husbandry Minister T. Srinivas Yadav , Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Home Minister Mohd. Mahamood Ali, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan inaugurated the Basti Dawakhanas in different areas

With the launch of 25 Basthi Dawakhanas, the total tally of such facilities across GHMC and neighbouring areas is 193.

These dispensaries at ward level have been a great support to urban poor in these testing times, the minister said.
