Telangana Government and Oyo rooms have entered into a partnership to develop the hospitality ecosystem and skill development in the state.IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao formally inaugurated the Tech Development Centre of Oyo rooms in Hyderabad on Friday.

The facility in Hyderabad is designed as a cutting-edge in-house technology hub focused on developing innovative products for customers, partners and employees. National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) is in discussions to boost employability in the Hospitality sector by leveraging OYO’s expertise in the hospitality segment to develop a



hybrid learning program. Also in the works is an alliance with Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) to maintain, market and promote select properties under the corporation.

Speaking at the event, KTR said, “We are aiming big on startups and innovation because as a government we realize that the next generation of growth and employment would come from this sector. Tourism is a priority sector for Telangana state. It generates local employment and numerous self-employment opportunities. There is a lot that both State and Union governments could do in Tourism sector.”
