Minister for Industries and Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao, who is in Delhi in connection with the World Economic Forum conference on Friday met Baba Kalyani of Bharath Forge and requested him to explore the possibility of investing in aerospace and defence sectors in Telangana State. He also briefed him about his government’s desire to set up an Aero Technology University in the State. Kalyani agreed to cooperate with the Telangana State government towards approaching world class aero tech and defence universities. He appreciated the programs and policies of the State government and agreed to visit Hyderabad to meet Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
KTR also met
the Chairman and Managing Director of JK TyresRaghupathiSinghania and explained to him about the opportunities in setting up paper mills in the State. The Minister briefed about the government’s desire to revive the Sirpur Paper Mills and requested him to invest in the plant. Singhania expressed his desire to have a separate meeting with the Chief Minister for investments in Telangana. KTR also discussed about HP companies’ expansion plans in Hyderabad and smart city solutions with HP India Managing Director Neelam Dhawan, who agreed to KTR’s proposal to develop one town in Telangana as a smart city on a pilot basis and come soon with a detailed proposal in this regard.
