KTR launches FICCI-FLO Industrial Park at Sultanpur

Urging the women entrepreneurs to tap into opportunities in the emerging technologies, aerospace, defence and several other new age segments, the Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao said the Government would consider giving a further 50 to 100 acre for setting up women led enterprises. He asked them to look at areas that have potential for value creation and large scale employment.

The Minister also announced a new initiative of the government – Udyamika- a new industrial wing that will offer a single window system to address the grievances of the women entrepreneurs. It will offer end- to-end support for women entrepreneurs, have a committee to review and process the incentives and also create a corpus fund that will be used for increasing the ease of doing business for women entrepreneurs, he said.

Inaugurating the 50-acre FICCI-FLO Industrial Park at Sultanpur on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the first industrial park in the country that is led and fully owned by women entrepreneurs, Rama Rao said the world is looking up to India with a renewed focus and urged the women entrepreneurs to come up with projects that have scale for a lasting impact. He urged the women to look at untapped areas and not just stick to the conventional small trades that are branded as a good fit to women entrepreneurs.

“Hyderabad supplied one-third of the vaccines used globally. We are also a key contributor in the pharma segment. There cannot be any reason for not thinking big or venturing into new areas. You should think of changing the world,” he goaded the entrepreneurs.

The 50-acre FICCI-FLO Industrial Park has been allotted to 25 entrepreneurs and about five of them have begun operations. Rama Rao asked the remaining members to take up their respective projects

without further delay as this would lead to creation of new jobs. 

Telangana has been supporting and advising the women entrepreneurs and will continue to do so, he said adding that ten per cent of each

industrial park is earmarked for women led enterprises.

He urged the



women entrepreneurs to avail the services of We-Hub, India’s first and only State led incubator to promote and foster women entrepreneurship by incubation, access to Government and creating a global collaborative network for women led enterprises to thrive, with respect to validation of their business ideas.

We-Hub so far worked with more than 5,000 entrepreneurs and incubated about 150 startups and helped raising more than Rs 65 crore in funding, he said.

Telangana has progressed on multiple fronts since the State formation in 2014. There were a lot of apprehensions about the State’s ability to attract new investments and preserve the cultural fabric. When the State began its journey, the GSDP was Rs 4.9 lakh crore then and now it has grown to touch Rs 11.5 lakh crore, recording about 130 per cent growth in less than eight years. The State is the fourth largest contributor to the GDP and with about four crore population contributes five per cent to the GDP.

“Telangana is a forward looking State. Any entrepreneur can start operations on day one. All industrial approvals are through the single window Ts-iPASS, which has so far given over 18,000 clearances with a

potential to create employment to 16 lakh people. If the officials do not come with a yes or no within the stipulated time, the proposal will get a deemed approval and the officials concerned for the delay will be penalised. This kind of accountability is also implemented for the first time in the country,” he said.

FLO Hyderabad Chairperson Uma Chigurupati said the new industrial park will have 25 women owned manufacturing industries. It will see an investment of Rs 250 crore and will generate employment to about 2,000 people. Electronics, packaging, furniture, general engineering, food processing, medical devices, jewellery, nutraceuticals and auto parts units will come here.

Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, TSIIC Chairman G Balamallu, TSIIC Managing Director EV Narasimha Reddy, Sangareddy Collector M Hanumantha Rao and others were present.
