The Telangana government on Tuesday launched a web portal on life sciences with the objective of creating an interface between government, industries, research institutions and startups. The initiative is also expected to enhance interaction between various stakeholders, through more industry-academia partnerships, increased awareness of services being offered by companies and access to infrastructure facilities.
Launching the portal on Tuesday, IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said Hyderabad was known for its vibrant pharma and life sciences ecosystem, and the State government’s initiative reflects its commitment
towards positioning Hyderabad and Telangana as a major hub for Life Sciences in Asia.
“I believe this effort will help in mapping competencies and bringing out tailor-made policy for stakeholders; undertake demand-driven skilling initiatives and aligning support from the State government; help industries find investor/business partners; and also create a network for sharing information on various initiatives of the government,” he said. He suggested companies, institutions, incubators and startups to partner in this initiative and benefit from the effort.
