Minister for IT & Industries K Taraka Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for State Election Commission (SEC) office complex at Gachibowli here on Monday.
The government will spend about Rs 7.25 crore for the SEC office building. The government released Rs 7.5 crore. A big block admeasuring 25,000 sqft will be built to store electronic voting machines (EVMs).
The



government will have to spend Rs 17 crore for construction of office building, staff quarters and housing facility for the Commissioner’s office and a conference hall. 
The Centre will extend some financial assistance and it was proposed to complete the work in 18 months. Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Mahender Reddy and MLA Gandhi and officials were present.
