Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday laid foundation stones for two logistic parks at Batasingaram and Mangalpally.
The logistic parks are aimed at providing an integrated one-stop facility for freight operators, cargo handling, third party service provider, truck drivers and parking facility. The logistic parks would also benefit the transportation cost reduction, pollution reduction, congestion reduction and warehousing cost
reduction.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao said the logistic market of India had emerged as one of the most attractive markets in the world. He said the metropolitan development plan had also identified 12 logistic hubs at various locations based on the necessity for future demand.
He said the Comprehensive Transportation Study (CTS) had also recommended for six road-based goods terminals and three rail-based goods terminals for the projected year 2041.
