IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao met with a Taiwanese business delegation led by Baushuan Ger, Taiwan’s Representative to India, and Richard Lee, Chairman of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA), here on Friday.
The Minister spoke about the vibrant industrial ecosystem in Telangana including that of Life Sciences, and ICT. He explained to the delegation about the State’s industrial policy TS-iPASS, on Hyderabad being an ideal destination for investments, and on handholding SMEs.
He spoke about creating a dedicated industrial park in the State for Taiwanese companies and jointly work with the industry and trade organisations of Taiwan to take it forward. He also mentioned the widespread use of IT and Electronics in healthcare, life sciences, automobiles, defence and aerospace, and startups.
The Minister also explained
measures adopted by the Government to improve the Ease of Doing Business in the State to create an investor-friendly ecosystem. He invited startups and MSMEs from Taiwan to collaborate with T-Works and T-Hub, prototyping and design and incubation campuses respectively.
Ger assured continued support from Taiwan and the companies that are willing to set up and expand. He would look to bring manufacturing and banking players from Taiwan for collaboration opportunities. Lee said industry from Telangana and Taiwan should focus on creating opportunities across research and design, innovation, product development and manufacturing.
IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Special Secretary, Investment Promotion and External Engagement Special Secretary E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Electronics Director Sujai Karampuri and others were present on the occasion.
