Taking a cue from Telangana, various states are now planning to implement welfare schemes introduced by the KCR government, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said.
“Various states have begun giving a serious thought to the welfare schemes being implemented by the Telangana government. They believe if a younger state like Telangana can do so much for people in a short span, why cannot they follow the same model,” KTR said at Sircilla on Wednesday.
The Sircilla MLA was given a rousing reception by party workers and leaders when he visited the constituency for the first time after being elevated to the post of working president.
Addressing a huge gathering, KTR thanked the voters for electing him with a thumping majority. “The state government has already overcome the power crisis and will soon complete the pending drinking water scheme works. In the next six months, 2.5 lakh acres in 13 mandals like Yellareddypet, Mustabad, Gambhiraopet and Konaraopet will get irrigated water,” KTR said, drawing a loud round of applause from the
crowds.
He promised to ensure that railway line is laid to Sircilla district within three years. The district will be moulded into a model district, he said. He regretted that the government could not distribute Bathukamma sarees during the festival time as the Opposition created hurdles. A total of 94 lakh Bathukamma sarees will be distributed in the district to all eligible women, he said.
Turning emotional, KTR said the people of Sircilla have given him a new life and responsibility by electing him with a huge margin and vowed to make Sircilla No 1 constituency in Telangana. “While I would be touring all parts of the state, I will continue to develop Sircilla by fulfilling the promises made during the elections,” he asserted. He also vowed to make people remember KCR for several generations. He said only 25 per cent of the works had been completed and the rest 75 per cent would be completed in KCR’s second tenure. “With the support of the people, we would make TRS a major political force in the state,” he said.
