BRS working president KT Rama Rao reiterated that his party was not inclined to topple the Congress government in Telangana and instead, wanted it to complete the full five-year term. He also saw no reason for the Congress high command to replace A Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister.
“As Revanth Reddy is the only person who is well-experienced in carrying moneybags, the Congress is unlikely to replace him as they need him,” he said sarcastically, adding that the Congress completing its full term in Telangana would only benefit the BRS for the next two to three elections.
Responding to queries from the media in Delhi on Monday, Rama Rao said the Congress promised to fulfill six
guarantees in 100 days, but even after 350 days, only a half guarantee was implemented so far.
“Congress deceived people of Karnataka and Telangana with their guarantees, and they will be cheating the people of Maharashtra and Jharkhand as well if elected to power. People should defeat both the BJP and the Congress who have a history of deceiving voters,” he added.
When asked about the closure of the main gate of the Telangana Secretariat, he ridiculed Revanth Reddy for spending Rs 3.5 crore to change the gates of the Secretariat after criticising former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for believing in Vastu, accusing him of being superstitious and of wasting people’s money.
