TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday said that the results were not as expected and added that there was no need to get dejected as the party was single largest in GHMC. Talking to reporters at Telangana Bhavan after the results, Rama Rao thanked the people who voted for TRS.
He said that the party expected another 20 to 25 seats but the margins in many divisions were less than 200 votes. "The result is certainly not what was expected. We lost in 10 to 12 divisions with a margin of less than 200 votes. The desired outcome was not given by the people. We will deliberate in detail in the party meetings," said
Rao.
The TRS leader thanked all the party leaders who worked for the party in the elections. He specially mentioned about the 'social media worriers' for their support to TRS. The TRS leader said that the party had lost elections with slender margins in divisions like BN Reddy Colony with 18 votes, Maula Ali with 200 votes, Malkajgiri with 70 votes, Moosapet 100, Adikmet with 200 votes.
The TRS leader said that there was no need to get disheartened with the result. Replying to a question, Rao said that the party would take a decision on the Mayor candidate in the party meetings.
