KTR says Jadcherla town developed significantly after the establishment of Polepally SEZ

IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao stated that the State government is working with an aim of implementing planned development of both urban and rural areas for sustainable living. He said the government was ready to provide all support for such development. He added that Jadcherla town developed significantly after the establishment of Polepally SEZ and has become an economic hub.

Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation for several development works in the town on Wednesday, Rama Rao said the previous governments of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh boasted of giving social security pension of Rs 200 per month and made half-hearted efforts to support the needy. 

He said the TRS government had not only increased the Aasara pensions by 10 times and provided Rs 2,016 per month, but also aiding about 40 lakh beneficiaries lead an independent and dignified life. “There was a delay in issuing fresh Aasara pensions or ration cards due to Covid-19 pandemic. But the State government will soon invite applications for the same,” he announced.

The Minister reminded that the fine variety rice which was being cooked at the residence of the Chief Minister, was also being served to the children studying in



social welfare hostels. He stated that the State government was spending Rs 1.25 lakh per annum on every student studying in the social welfare residential schools. Besides providing fee reimbursement for higher studies, he pointed out that the State government was also funding their higher education abroad through overseas scholarships. 

He also stated that the Chief Minister had come to the rescue of the private teachers who lost their livelihood due the Covid-19 pandemic and was providing Rs 2,000 along with 25 kg rice.

Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stones and also inaugurated various development works in Jadcherla municipality on Wednesday. He inaugurated the Mission Bhagiratha Water Tank at Kaverammapeta,

Nallacheruvu Mini Tank Bund and the Gangapur Road from Kaverammapeta among others. He also inspected the double bedroom houses being constructed in Kaverammapeta and laid foundation stone for several development works taken up at the Housing Board Colony at a cost of Rs 15 crore.

Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, former Minister and MLA C Laxma Reddy, MP Srinivas Reddy and others attended the meeting.
