The State of Telangana is all set to get one of its biggest investment so far. Technology giant Microsoft is all set to invest Rs 15,000 crore to set up its largest data centre region of India in Hyderabad.
Minister of IT and Industries department K T Rama Rao informed that Microsoft will be investing Rs 15,000 crore over a period of 15 years to set up fourth and largest datacentre in Hyderabad region.
“This will be the largest investment that
Telangana would have got so far. Microsoft has chosen Hyderabad to set up largest datacentre in Hyderabad region and this will further boost the IT economy of the State,” Rama Rao said.
The minister also informed that the tech giant is has about 9,000 employees working out of the India Development Centre (IDC) and the upcoming data centre will provide further impetus to the growing prowess of IT in the State which has registered a growth of 9.5 per cent in 2020-21 period.
