The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s multi-purpose function hall being constructed at Sitaphalmandi will be a role model for others, said Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, KT Rama Rao.
The Minister made a surprise inspection of the works at the function hall on Friday and said the facility will stand as a model for all other function halls being constructed by GHMC. He directed Mayor Bonthu Rammohan to emulate the model and develop all the other multipurpose function halls.
This function hall at Sitaphalmandi is equipped with centralised air-conditioning, attractive illumination, modern kitchen, staircase, RO plants etc.,
said Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud. In the same premises, SETWIN Training Centre is also being constructed.
The idea was to provide all facilities at the function hall to ensure lower and middle income groups conduct their family functions and programmes without much expenditure, he said.
A new function hall is also being constructed at Lalapet at a cost of Rs 6.90 crore. Though administration sanction has been accorded for the project, funds were not released due to election code of conduct, the Deputy Speaker informed the Minister. Instructions were issued to the officials to release the funds at the earliest.
