Industries Minister KT Rama Rao will address the inaugural session of a web conference scheduled to be held on June 8 and 9 with Saudi industrialists. The objective of the conference is to explore investment opportunities and new partnerships by attracting Saudi investments into Telangana, besides promoting trade and industry between Saudi Arabia and the State.

The conference will be held with the support of the Indian Embassy in Riyadh as part of the promotion policy of the States by the Ministry of External Affairs. IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan will present the business opportunities in Telangana to the Saudi businessmen. Indian Ambassador Dr Ausaf Sayeed and senior Saudi high-ranking

officials are likely to participate in virtual mode, official sources said.

A year ago, it was planned that Rama Rao would lead an official delegation to Saudi Arabia where he was expected to meet top executives of conglomerates such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC and other top firms. But the visit was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The Minister, who is seen as the urban face of Telangana, is popular among the NRIs — from shepherds in deserts to highly qualified professionals — in Saudi and other parts of the Gulf region. He has constantly been involved in dialogue with various stakeholders, including External Affairs Ministry, to promote Telangana.
